Locality PB Fund Guidance

Overview

This year, Perth & Kinross Council have agreed to focus participatory budgeting on four localities that face the greatest deprevation and need for targeted community investment in an exercise called the Locality PB Fund. At the start of December, we will open the portal for applications from groups within or near the localities for projects to be run specifically in these areas. Projects should demonstrate a focus on tackling poverty and alleviating the impact of cost of living. Applications are also welcome to include costs towards upskilling and resourcing volunteers to enhance the work of your organisation.

 

Localities

This year's PB exercise targets four specific areas of Perth & Kinross. Please identify the locality in which your project is taking place. You can identify these localities using the map of proposals at the bottom of the main Locality PB Fund page. The residents of those localities will make the final decision on who receives funding. The total funds available for each locality are detailed below.

Timeline

w/c Monday 2nd December – Proposal entry window opens. 

January 2025 - Proposal Workshops 

Friday 7th February 2025 - Proposal window closes.

Monday 17th February 2025 – voting opens on the webpage. 

Friday 7th March 2025 - voting closes on the webpage

w/c Monday 17th March 2025 - results announced. More details to be confirmed at a later date.

 

How to vote

  1. Sign in using your MyGovScot, Facebook or Google account OR register with the webpage using an existing email address

  2. Go to My Account in the top right hand corner of the site, and select the locality in which you live using the area drop-down list. This will give you access to your locality's voting page. 

  3. Select the locality in which you wish to vote – note that you can only vote in one locality and should vote in the locality in which you live.

  4. Note the total funding available in that locality – this is displayed at the top of the screen

  5. Read through each of the bids in your locality and decide which bids you wish to support.

  6. Click ‘Vote’ on the bids you wish to support and keep an eye on your available budget. This will go down as you cast your votes. 

  7. You can vote for as many or few projects as you wish up to the amount awarded either spent the full budget, or have insufficient budget left to vote for any more projects.

  8. You can sign in again at a later date, using the same long-in details and amend your vote prior to the closing date on 7th March.
