Green Living Fund Guidance

GUIDANCE ON HOW TO VOTE CAN BE FOUND AT THE END OF THIS PAGE

Information regarding voting support can be found here.

Overview

The Green Living Fund is a new opportunity for community groups to apply for a grant to make a positive difference around climate change and cost of living.

Proposals should fit with at least one of the criteria listed below, and also demonstrate how it will help local residents with the cost of living.

  • Energy - reducing consumption, promoting efficiency
  • Transport - encouraging active travel, decarbonising transport
  • Waste - reduce, reuse and recycle
  • Resilience  - improving greenspace, biodiversity, local food growing
  • Engagement - increasing public awareness and engaging communities

The proposals will then be screened by an expert panel to confirm feasibility before the proposals go forward to the public voting stage. Members of the local community will then choose which proposals will receive funding.

Localities

Perth & Kinross is split into seven localities as below. Please identify the locality in which your project is taking place. You can identify the ward and locality you live in by using our Postcode Checker. Each locality covers one to three council wards and the residents of those localities will make the final decision on who receives funding. The total funds available for each locality, along with their respective council wards are detailed below.

How to vote

  1. Sign in using your MyGovScot, Facebook or Google account OR register with the webpage using an existing email address

  1. Select the locality in which you wish to vote – note that you can only vote in one locality and should vote in the locality in which you live. Localities are combinations of one or more Perth and Kinross Council wards. If you are not sure which locality you live in, you can use your address to check which ward you are in at Find your local councillor - Perth & Kinross Council (pkc.gov.uk). Please note that there is no public vote required in Strathtay. The groups who submitted bids for funding in Strathtay will be contacted separately.

  1. Note the total funding available in that locality – this is displayed at the top of the screen

  1. Read through each of the bids in your locality and decide which bids you wish to support.

  1. Click ‘Vote’ on the bids you wish to support and keep an eye on your available budget. This will go down as your cast your votes.

  1. You can vote for as many projects as you wish until you have either spent the full budget, or have insufficient budget left to vote for any more projects.

  1. You do not need to spend the full budget. If you only wish to vote for one or two projects that is fine.

  1. You can sign in again at a later date, using the same long-in details and amend your vote prior to the closing date on 1 March

If you have any issues with logging in or voting, you can contact us at communityempowerment@pkc.gov.uk. Help and support in terms of guidance is also provided on the website.
